I've never been much into quilting. I make a flannel blanket here and there and I made a rag quilt back in my single days, but I mostly stick to clothing and diaper bags. When I was deciding what to make for my sister's baby shower gift, I saw THIS tutorial over at Lu Bird Baby for an easy strip quilt.
It was love at first sight! I knew I wanted to make my first strip quilt.
So, with this fabric-
I cut and sewed all different widths of strips together-
And then I appliqued a big "J" on because the baby is going to be named Johnathan-
Machine quilting and binding done and voila!
I had a hard time giving it away, but I have no boys...
She loved it!
