I Feel the Love

Yesterday afternoon, I received an important phone call...with GREAT news!

More fabric from my Grandmother was on its way!

Only 1/2 an hour later, I had THIS:

Varying types of wool, some felted wool, and some corduroy (the purple, blue and burgundy...GORGEOUS!)

My Grandma is the BEST!

So, I just wanted to post a few of the things I've made from the things she's already sent me.

My crochet hooks (from the husband) were EVERYWHERE...I remembered my mom having one of these, so, using some green felt from my grandma, I whipped up this little beauty:

...found a ribbon to match...

...and voila!

Also, I've been working on a hat for myself with that divine yarn that she sent (you've already seen the others)...and finally finished it! (apparently the lady who made the pattern I was using had a much larger head than I do, because it kept ending up way too big)

I'm looking at adding a brim, but haven't found a free pattern that I liked very much...So I'll let you know when I do.  Otherwise, here's the pattern for this one!  I've never written up a crochet pattern, so if you're totally confused, say so!

ch = chain
ss = slip stich
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet

Start with a slip knot on your hook.
ch 4 and ss in first loop

You now have a ring.  ch 2 then dc 12 in the ring then ss

ch 2 Follow the pattern of dc 1 in one loop then dc 2 in one loop all the way around.  ss

ch 2 Follow the pattern of dc 1 in one loop then dc 2 in one loop all the way around. ss

ch 2 Follow the pattern of dc 1 in one loop then dc 2 in one loop all the way around.  ss
ch 2  Follow the pattern of dc 1 in first 5 loops, then dc 2 in the next loop, and repeat all the way around.  ss

ch 2 dc 1 in each loop all the way around for the rest of the hat until it is as long as you want it.  Make sure to ss after each round.

To finish off the hat, sc 1 in each loop all the way around and ss.  Tie it off and use hook to weave end back into hat.
