Date Night: Ladder Golf

Sorry I've been AWOL.  I've been putting off my crafty projects for a while because of this:

And this:

Oh, and these...

But we're keeping our goal of a date a week, even if we are at home...

This week we played Ladder Golf.

I built this set for Thad for Christmas, using plans for THIS site.

No sewing required! :)  Unless of course you want to sew a handy bag to put everything in, but a cardboard box works just as well...

There are plenty of other plans out there if the ones I used don't suit your fancy.  Try HERE or HERE if you want something a little different.  And check HERE for the official rules, including tips for heckling your opponent!

A few things I'd do differently this time:
1. I'd still paint my cross-bars, but not the very ends that must be stuck into the joints...the paint makes it really hard to push in and pull apart...

2. I wouldn't be scared of drilling the golf balls.  Everyone recommends you use solid core golf balls, which I used, but it really wasn't that hard to drill them, and I just held it in my hand against a board.  No accidents or near accidents at all!

We needed a good treat though, so we got some of these

Added some chocolate pudding

set up some camp chairs on the deck...

And played some golf!

My dear husband would like me to note that he won.

So go enjoy a date of your own! And making your own ladder golf...without any sewing...

  1. I was sucked into the world of princesses when I read those books in a few days. Loved them! Are you on goodreads.com? Add me as a friend if you are; you have my gmail. I added your other reads to my LONG "to read" list on goodreads. lol
